## Items Database
The core database where every piece of personal property lives. Create this as a **Table – Full Page** in Notion and copy the rows below.

**Key properties to add in Notion:**
- **Item** (Title)
- **Category** (Select: Electronics, Appliances, Furniture, Tools, Misc)
- **Room** (Select: Living Room, Kitchen, Bedroom, Bathroom, Office, Garage, etc.)
- **Purchase Date** (Date)
- **Purchase Price** (Number, $)
- **Warranty Length (months)** (Number)
- **Warranty Expiry** (Formula: `dateAdd(prop("Purchase Date"), prop("Warranty Length (months)"), "months")`)
- **Serial #** (Text)
- **Photo** (Files & media)

> 💡 Tip: Use the “Warranty Expiry” formula so the date updates automatically when you change the purchase date or warranty length.

## Warranty Tracker View
A filtered **Table** view that shows only items with an active warranty and highlights those expiring soon.

- **Filter:** `Warranty Expiry` is on or after `today()`
- **Sort:** `Warranty Expiry` ascending
- **Conditional formatting (Notion “Highlight”):** Add a filter group “Warranty Expiry is within next 30 days” and set the row background to light red.

## Room Galleries
Create a **Gallery** view for each major room. Group by **Room** and show the **Photo** as the cover. This gives a visual inventory of every space.

- **Gallery Settings:** Card size – Medium; Show properties – Category, Purchase Price, Warranty Expiry.

> 💡 Tip: Click a card to open the full item page where you can attach receipts, manuals, or warranty PDFs.

## Receipts & Manuals Repository
A simple **Files** database linked to the Items database via a Relation.

**Properties to set up:**
- **Document** (Title)
- **Linked Item** (Relation → Items Database)
- **Type** (Select: Receipt, Warranty PDF, Manual, Photo)
- **Uploaded** (Date)

> 💡 Tip: Store all PDFs in a cloud folder (e.g., Google Drive) and link them here for instant access from any device.

## Maintenance & Replacement Calendar
A **Calendar** view that pulls from two date properties in the Items database:

1. **Warranty Expiry** – shows when warranties end.
2. **Planned Replacement** – a manual date you set for items you know will need replacement (e.g., HVAC, roof).

Create a **Formula** property called **Next Action Date**:

Then filter the calendar to show only dates that are not empty.

> 💡 Tip: Enable Notion’s “Remind” feature on the **Next Action Date** to receive a push/email reminder 7 days before the event.

## How to import into Notion
1. In Notion, click **Import** → **Markdown & CSV**.  
2. Select this `.md` file and upload it.  
3. Notion will create pages for each H2 heading.  
4. For every table labeled “Database” (Items, Receipts & Manuals, Maintenance Calendar), click the table, choose **Convert to Database** → **Table – Full Page** (or **Gallery** / **Calendar** as indicated).  
5. Add the missing property types (Select, Date, Formula, Relation, Files & media) exactly as described in each section.  
6. Set up the views (Dashboard, Warranty Tracker, Room Galleries, Calendar) using the filters, sorts, and grouping instructions.  
7. Upload your photos, receipts, and manuals to the appropriate records.  
8. Pin the **Dashboard** page to your sidebar for quick access.
