> 💡 Tip: Link each Phase row to a dedicated “Phase Detail” page (see Section 2) using Notion’s relation property. This creates a one‑click drill‑down from the dashboard.

---

## 2️⃣ Phase Detail Pages
Create a sub‑page for each phase (Planning, Demolition, Structural, Finishes, Inspection). Each page contains:

* **Task Board** – Kanban view of tasks (To‑Do, In‑Progress, Done).
* **Milestones** – Table of key dates with reminders.
* **Documents** – File‑type property for contracts, permits, design files.

> 💡 Tip: Duplicate the “Phase Template” page and rename it for each new phase to keep formatting consistent.

---

## 3️⃣ Master Task Tracker (Database)
All tasks across the project live in a single database. Use filters/views to surface phase‑specific or status‑specific lists.

| Task | Phase | Owner | Due Date | Priority | Status | Estimated Hours | Notes |
|------|-------|-------|----------|----------|--------|-----------------|-------|
| Obtain building permit | Planning & Design | Alex (Owner) | 2024‑02‑10 | High | ✅ Done | 4 | Permit #12345 |
| Order demolition contractor | Demolition | Maya (Project Manager) | 2024‑03‑02 | Medium | ⏳ In Progress | 2 | Quote attached |
| Remove kitchen cabinets | Demolition | Contractor Joe | 2024‑03‑04 | High | ⏳ In Progress | 8 | Dispose per city rules |
| Install new joists | Structural Work | Contractor Sam | 2024‑03‑10 | High | ⏳ Not Started | 16 | Verify load calculations |
| Paint living room | Finishes & Fixtures | Maya | 2024‑04‑01 | Low | ⏳ Not Started | 6 | Choose color #B2AFAF |

> 💡 Tip: Add a **Relation** to the “Materials & Purchases” database (Section 4) so you can see which items each task requires.

---

## 4️⃣ Materials & Purchases (Database)
Track every material, fixture, and service you buy, with cost, supplier, and delivery status.

| Item | Category | Quantity | Unit Cost | Total Cost | Supplier | Order Date | Delivery Date | Linked Task |
|------|----------|----------|-----------|------------|----------|------------|----------------|-------------|
| 2×4 Lumber (8‑ft) | Structural | 120 pcs | $3.50 | $420 | Home Depot | 2024‑03‑08 | 2024‑03‑10 | Install new joists |
| Ceramic Tile (12×12) | Flooring | 250 sq ft | $2.20 | $550 | TileCo | 2024‑03‑15 | 2024‑03‑20 | Tile bathroom floor |
| Kitchen Sink | Fixtures | 1 | $250 | $250 | Lowe’s | 2024‑04‑02 | 2024‑04‑05 | Install kitchen sink |
| Paint – Living Room (2‑gal) | Finishes | 2 | $35 | $70 | Sherwin‑Williams | 2024‑03‑28 | 2024‑04‑01 | Paint living room |
| Electrical Permit Fee | Permit | 1 | $150 | $150 | City Office | 2024‑02‑15 | N/A | Obtain building permit |

> 💡 Tip: Use a **Rollup** on the “Master Task Tracker” to sum the total cost of all materials linked to a task. This gives instant cost visibility per task.

---

## 5️⃣ Budget Overview (Page with Calculations)
A simple page that uses linked databases and rollups to show:

* **Total Budget** – input manually (e.g., $30,000).
* **Committed Spend** – sum of “Budget Spent” from the Project Dashboard + total of “Total Cost” from Materials.
* **Remaining Budget** – formula: `Total Budget – Committed Spend`.

> 💡 Tip: Add a progress bar using a formula property: `format(round((prop("Committed Spend") / prop("Total Budget")) * 100), "0") + "%"`. Visual cue helps keep spending on track.

---

## 6️⃣ Issue Log & Decisions (Database)
Capture unexpected problems, change orders, and key decisions with timestamps.

| Date | Issue / Decision | Impact | Owner | Resolution | Status |
|------|------------------|--------|-------|------------|--------|
| 2024‑03‑05 | Water leak discovered behind drywall | Delay 2 days, extra $800 | Maya | Fixed by plumber, added waterproofing | ✅ Resolved |
| 2024‑03‑12 | Supplier out of stock on selected tile | Switch to alternative, +$120 | Alex | Approved alternative tile | ✅ Resolved |
| 2024‑04‑03 | Client wants open‑concept layout | Add structural beam, +$2,500 | Maya | Pending engineer review | ⏳ Pending |

> 💡 Tip: Link each issue to the relevant Phase page so you can see all problems affecting that phase at a glance.

---

## 7️⃣ Final Checklist & Handover
A checklist to ensure nothing is missed before moving back in.

- [ ] All permits closed out
- [ ] Final inspection passed
- [ ] Punch‑list items completed
- [ ] Warranty documents uploaded
- [ ] Keys & access codes handed over
- [ ] Final budget report sent to homeowner

> 💡 Tip: Convert this list into a Notion **Template Button** that creates a new “Project Close‑out” page for each renovation you finish.

---

## How to import into Notion
1. **Create a new page** in your Notion workspace where you want the template.
2. Click **Import** → **Markdown & CSV** and select this `.md` file.
3. Notion will create the headings and plain tables.
4. For each table:
   a. Click the table, choose **Convert to Database** → **Table – Full Page** (or Inline as you prefer).
   b. Rename the database to match the section title (e.g., “Master Task Tracker”).
   c. Adjust property types (Date, Person, Select, Relation, Rollup, Formula) to match the column headers.
5. Set up **Relations** between databases:
   * Task ↔ Materials, Task ↔ Phase, Issue ↔ Phase, etc.
6. Add the suggested **Views** (Kanban, Calendar, Gallery) within each database for quick access.
7. Duplicate the **Phase Template** page for each phase and link them via the dashboard.
8. Test the rollups and formulas; tweak any numbers to reflect your actual project budget.

Your Home Renovation Project Planner is now ready to use—track tasks, costs, permits, and issues all in one place, and keep every stakeholder aligned from start to finish. Enjoy a smoother renovation!
