# Content Calendar

## Overview
A single‑source hub for planning, creating, publishing, and tracking every piece of content across your brand.
Designed for marketers, creators, and small teams who need clear visibility on deadlines, responsibilities, and performance metrics.

> 💡 Tip: Duplicate this template for each major campaign (e.g., “Q3 Product Launch”) to keep projects isolated while preserving the same structure.

> 💡 Tip: Use the **Status** property to drive your Kanban view (Idea → Draft → Review → Scheduled → Published).

### Suggested Views
- **Calendar View** – shows `Publish Date` on a monthly calendar.
- **Kanban Board** – grouped by `Status`.
- **Table – All Content** – default view with filters for each platform.
- **Tag Filtered** – saved view showing only rows with a specific tag (e.g., “AI”).

## Content Types & Taxonomy
Define the content pillars and tags that power your calendar. Create a separate **Content Types** database (optional) with these properties:

| Type | Description | Primary Platform | Typical Length |
|------|-------------|------------------|----------------|
| Blog Post | SEO‑focused long‑form article | Website | 1,200‑2,000 words |
| Reel | Short‑form video (15‑30 s) | Instagram | — |
| Newsletter | Email update to subscribers | Email | 400‑600 words |
| Article | Professional piece for LinkedIn | LinkedIn | 800‑1,200 words |
| Podcast | Audio interview or solo | Spotify | 20‑30 min |

> 💡 Tip: Keep the **Tags** list in a multi‑select property; add new tags as you discover trends (e.g., “sustainability”, “Q&A”).

## Publishing Workflow
1. **Idea Capture** – Add a new row in the Content Calendar with `Status = Idea`.
2. **Brief & Assignment** – Fill `Owner`, `Type`, and `Tags`; attach a brief document via the `Notes` field.
3. **Production** – Move to `Draft` or `In Production`; link to Google Docs, Figma, or audio files.
4. **Review** – Change to `Review`; use Notion comments for feedback.
5. **Schedule** – Set `Publish Date`; switch to `Scheduled`. The Calendar view will automatically show the upcoming slot.
6. **Publish** – Once live, change to `Published`. Add a link in the `Notes` field for quick access.
7. **Post‑Publish** – Fill `SEO Score` (if applicable) and later add performance data in the Analytics section.

> 💡 Tip: Automate reminders by adding a formula property `Days Until Publish = dateBetween(Publish Date, now(), "days")`. Filter rows where this value ≤ 2 to see imminent deadlines.

## Analytics & Performance (Database)
Track how each piece performs after publishing. Add this table on a separate page or as a linked view of the Content Calendar.

| Title | Platform | Publish Date | Views | Click‑Through Rate | Engagement | Revenue Impact |
|-------|----------|--------------|-------|--------------------|------------|----------------|
| 10 Tips for Remote Work | Website | 2024‑07‑15 | 4,320 | 3.2 % | 1,210 comments | $2,400 |
| Instagram Reel: Behind the Scenes | Instagram | 2024‑07‑10 | 12,540 | 5.8 % | 2,340 likes | — |
| Monthly Newsletter – July | Email | 2024‑07‑05 | 1,800 opens | 22 % | 150 clicks | $1,100 |
| LinkedIn Thought Piece: AI Ethics | LinkedIn | 2024‑07‑20 | 3,100 | 4.5 % | 420 reactions | — |
| Podcast Episode 12 – Startup Stories | Spotify | 2024‑07‑22 | 8,750 | — | 310 shares | $3,200 |

> 💡 Tip: Create a rollup in the Content Calendar that pulls the latest `Views` metric from this table, so you can see performance at a glance.

## Resources & SOPs

## How to import into Notion
1. In Notion, create a new page where you want the template.
2. Click the three‑dot menu → **Import** → select **Markdown & CSV**.
3. Upload this `.md` file. Notion will create headings, callouts, and tables.
4. For each markdown table, click the table → **Turn into database**.
5. Rename each database (e.g., “Content Calendar”, “Analytics”).
6. Add the suggested **Views** (Calendar, Kanban, etc.) using the **+ Add a view** button.
7. Duplicate the **Template Button** (found in Resources & SOPs) to create reusable content rows.
8. Adjust property types (e.g., change “Publish Date” to **Date**, “Owner” to **Person**, “Tags” to **Multi‑select**, “SEO Score” to **Number**).

Your Content Calendar is now ready to drive your entire publishing operation!
